Stealing allows additional crafting components to be gathered when using certain abilities against enemies. The following abilities allow you to steal:

Ability Name Class Description
Steal Component Scoundrel Attempts to steal a Component from the target.
Shakedown Vampire, Bounty Hunter Deals 0.85x PhysicalPhysical (ATK) damage to the target and attempts to steal a Component from them.
Counter: Steal Scoundrel, Kawa Counters any offensive action taken on the character by an adjacent unit by attempting to steal a Component.

All of these abilities have a base 50% chance to succeed, which is not influenced by Accuracy, but is influenced by the Gambler passive Lucky. Successfully stealing a component reduces the chance of any further steals on that same unit by half. For example, a 50% chance to steal will be reduced to 25%, then 12% on the same unit.

Stealing Groups[ | ]

Most Classes and Monsters belong to one of three Stealing Groups. This group determines which component will be awarded when successfully stealing. If a class or monster is not listed in any of the poaching groups, it will use the Default group instead. Bzil count as the monster of their primary class.

The components received from stealing depend not only on the enemy being stolen from, but by what location you are in, and possibly how far in the story you are. If a unit being stolen from belongs to multiple entries in a table, it will use the most specific one. For example, Date Tsunymphite would be used over Pektite, which would be used over Caster if you're stealing from a Date Tsunymphite.

If an entry has multiple lists, each list has an equal chance of being used when determining what component is stolen. The first item in a list has an 80% chance of being selected; all remaining entries are equally likely if the first item is not stolen. So for example, if a list has 5 items, the first item has an 80% chance of being selected, while the remaining 4 each have a 5% chance of being selected.
